The Williston Park Little League participated in several 9/10 year-old Tournaments during the Summer and Fall of 2002. 

Per Little League Baseball guidelines, the WPLL 9/10 Tournament Team was selected in early-Summer 2002 from boys 9 or 10 years-old on 7/31/2002 who participated in the WPLL 2002 Spring Season.

 

The 2002 WPLL 9/10 Tournament Team was managed by Steve Serrano, and coached by Lou Lanfair, Jim Cunningham, and Jim Bulva.

The team participated in the following 2002 Tournaments:

Official Little League Baseball 2002 Williamsport Tournament (6/29 thru 7/18)

Annual 7-team double-elimination Tournament sponsored by Little League Baseball. The WPLL is part of District-28 which consists of Williston Park, East Williston, Port Washington, Manhasset, Merillon, Roslyn, and Albertson-Herricks. This year's tournament was held at Lions Field in Port Washington and started on 6/29/2002 at 3pm.

Williston Park was eliminated by eventual tournament winner Manhasset.

2002 Glen Cove Mayors Trophy (7/8 thru 8/26)     Click here for Final Standings

Annual 16-team Tournament run by the town of Glen Cove with participation from tournament teams from all over Long Island. The WPLL participated in an 8-team division including Island Trees, Glen Cove, Levittown North, Bayville, Port Washington, Glen Head, and Long Beach. The top two teams advanced to the Glen Cove Championship Series against the top two teams from the other 8-team division which included Plainedge,  Briarwood, Levittown Central, Manhasset, Glen Cove National, Levittown South - Wantagh, Franklin Square, and St. Dominics.

Annual 8-team double-elimination Tournament run by the town of Williston Park with participation by several 9/10 year-old Tournament Teams from the local communities. This years' tournament included Williston Park, Roslyn, Merillon, Albertson-Herricks, Franklin Square, East Williston, and Carle Place.

2002 Diamond Pro's Fall Tournament (9/7 thru 11/9)     Click here for Final Fall Standings

Annual 24-team Tournament run by Diamond Pro's with participation from tournament teams from Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester, Long Island, and Stamford (CT). There were 24 teams which were split into four 6-team divisions. The WPLL participated in the American #1 Division which included North Riverdale, Peter Stuyvesant, Yorkville, Stamford (CT), and Pelham Parkway. The top two teams from each division made the Diamond Pro's Playoffs. The 1st round of the playoffs was a best 2-of-3 Division Series (with 8 teams), followed by a best 2-of-3 League Championship Series (with 4 teams), followed by the Diamond Pro's World Series (final 2 teams).
