The
Williston Park Mayor's Trophy Tournament will be governed by the
Williamsport Little League Rules EXCEPT as set forth below:
I. Participation:
1. The maximum number
of players per team is twenty (20), but only a maximum of fourteen (14)
are
allowed to play in a game. Rosters must list all twenty (20) players and the
roster must be
submitted prior to
the start of the tournament. No substitutions of players from the initial
rosters will be permitted
once the tournament begins.
2. Each player must
play for (3) consecutive outs in the field, or, have one (1) at bat in the game.
3. Nine (9) players
in the field and one (1) extra hitter (EH). The EH is optional.
Note: The Williamsport Re-entry and Courtesy runner rules will apply.
II. Pitching:
1. Each player may only pitch a maximum of nine (9)
innings per week. The week starts on Saturday and ends on Friday.
2. A player may only pitch a maximum of six (6) innings
in a day. If so, the player may pitch three (3) more innings that week, however
only after three (3) day's rest.
3. If a player pitches in four (4) or more innings in a
day then three (3) calendar days rest is mandatory. A single thrown pitch
constitutes a full inning pitched. (Example: If a player pitches four (4) or
more innings on Saturday then that same player can not pitch again until
Wednesday. The three (3) days rest is Sunday/Monday/Tuesday).
4. If a player pitches in two (2) or three (3) innings in a
day, one (1) calendar days rest is mandatory. A single thrown pitch constitutes a
full inning pitched. (Example: If a player pitches in two (2) or three (3) innings
on Saturday then that same player can not pitch again until Monday. The one
day's rest is Sunday).
5. A player may pitch on consecutive days if only
one (1) inning was pitched on the previous day.
III. Mercy Rule:
1. If a team is leading by ten (10) or more runs after
the losing team has batted 4 times then the game will end.
IV.
Bunting and Stealing:
1. Bunting is
permitted
2.
Unlimited stealing is permitted,
including the stealing of home.
V. Home Team:
1. The home team will be determined by a coin toss by the
umpire and the respective managers prior to the start of each game.
VI. General:
1. Remember good sportsmanship throughout
2. Failure to abide by these rules and the Williamsport
rules may result in expulsion from the tournament of any player and/or team.
3. No jewelry of any kind can be worn by any player on
the playing field.
